WhatsApp is testing a major redesign of its Android app
Miscellaneous / / September 27, 2023
Similar to iOS, but not quite.
In early September, WhatsApp gave some beta app users access to the new Android app design for the first time. Then online appeared first screenshot of the update, now the update showed in detail - and in light and dark themes.
Beta build 2.23.20.10 adds interface improvements, as well as new icons and colors. Green will become the dominant highlight color in both light and dark themes.
Similar design changes noticed and in the iOS version of the application - but, unlike Android, here the profile icon will remain on the bottom panel.
It is not yet known when these changes will appear in the stable version of the application, but given their distribution to all users of the beta version, the release may well be just around the corner.
