Scientists have discovered at what age people are happiest

As it turned out, this indicator fluctuates throughout life, but the peak still occurs at a certain moment.
A group of scientists from Germany and Switzerland tried to answer the question at what age a person is happiest. Their work Psychological Bulletin published this story.
It is based on an analysis of studies involving a total of 460,902 people. From this group, they separately assessed 443 questionnaires where people themselves described their attitude towards themselves throughout their lives.
We focused on changes in three main components of subjective well-being—life satisfaction and positive and negative emotional states.

The results showed that life satisfaction decreases from 9 to 16 years of age. Researchers attribute this to changes in the body during puberty. Then this figure increases slightly for a long time and reaches a peak at age 70, and then falls again, down to age 96.
But positive emotional states decline almost throughout life - from 9 to 94 years. Negative ones fluctuate slightly between the ages of 9 and 22, and then decline until age 60. After the sixth decade there are more of them again.
This may be due to the fact that older people have reduced physical performance, their health often deteriorates and they begin to have less contact with the outside world.

Scientists summarize that in late life, all components of subjective well-being tend to worsen rather than improve. Therefore, it is important throughout your life not to be lazy and to do things that bring you pleasure more often.
