The redesigned iPhone 15 Pro case has significantly reduced the cost of glass replacement

Last year, Apple announced a subtle but important design change for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus: both phones had a removable back panel, making repairs easier and cheaper. This year Apple did same with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

This important upgrade in the body design was confirmed by the prices for replacing the rear glass of the body. For the iPhone 15 Pro it's $169 and for the Pro Max it's $199. For comparison, for a similar repair of last year’s flagships, Apple had to pay $499 and $549, respectively.

iPhone 15 Pro features a new titanium frame that's stronger but lighter than stainless steel. During the presentation of the new iPhones, Apple noted that repairing the iPhone 15 Pro has become easier thanks to a “new internal chassis architecture.” It was this that made it possible to simplify the work of service center employees who receive broken smartphones.

On the other hand, Apple Watch repairs have become more expensive. After the announcement of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2, the company increased prices for battery replacements. Whereas buying a new Apple Watch battery used to cost $79, it now costs $99.
