A nail care option that will be appreciated by lovers of minimalism and naturalness.
What is Japanese manicure
This is a nail care system that, as it is believed, appeared in Japan about 400 years ago. First of all, Japanese manicure is aimed at improving the health of nails and emphasizing their natural beauty.
During the procedure, formulations with nutrients are deeply rubbed into the nail plate. This way your nails become stronger and smoother, look more neat and shine even without polish. This type of manicure does not involve increasing the length or design. Instead, it helps repair weak, damaged nails, especially if they have been exposed to gel or acrylic for a long time.
What are the pros and cons of Japanese manicure?
It not only gives your hands a beautiful and well-groomed look, but has a number of advantages:
- strengthens nails and protects them from splitting;
- stimulates nail growth and adds a healthy shine to them;
- allows you to take a break from contact with power tools;
- makes it possible to take a break between applying gel polish or extensions;
- protects the cuticle from injury;
- softens and smoothes the skin of the hands thanks to the final massage.
Also, the advantages of Japanese manicure include its low cost. Prices from craftsmen start from 1,000–1,200 rubles. And it has, perhaps, only one minus - it won’t be possible to make a design.
What are the stages of Japanese manicure?
First, the nails are cleaned, they are shaped with a file and the cuticles are pushed back. Sometimes it is carefully removed using scissors or special gentle means, although strict tradition dictates that metal tools and solvents be avoided.
Then the nail plate is leveled with a hard brush or buff and a special paste is applied to it, which contains: vitamins A and E, keratin, natural oils and other nutritional components of natural origin. Afterwards, the nails are carefully polished with a special tool coated with natural suede.
After rubbing in the paste and polishing, there is a stage using mineral powder made from beeswax and diatomaceous earth - a natural component of cosmetics with a high content of silicic acid. The combination of paste and powder “seals” nutrients in the nail plate and gives the nails a light pearlescent shine.
At the end of a Japanese manicure, a hand massage is usually done with a thick moisturizer and cuticle oil.
The entire procedure takes 30–60 minutes, and the natural glossy shine on the nails lasts 2–3 weeks. To prolong the effect, it is important to treat both the coating itself and the skin of your hands with care: avoid direct contact with aggressive household chemicals, regularly use moisturizer and apply nourishing compositions to cuticle.
Who is suitable for Japanese manicure?
First of all, those who have weak, easily broken, dull or damaged nails should pay attention to this type of manicure. It will also appeal to connoisseurs of natural beauty and minimalism. If you want to add a little color to your look, after treatment you can cover your nails with a thin layer of regular polish in a soft nude shade.
The procedure itself has no contraindications and is suitable even for pregnant and nursing mothers. Caution should be exercised by people prone to allergic reactions and make sure in advance that they are not allergic to the components in the paste or powder.
Is it possible to do Japanese manicure at home?
It’s easy to find and order a special Japanese manicure kit on the Internet to do it yourself. The kit usually includes paste, powder and all the necessary tools.
However, despite the apparent ease of the procedure, it is better to entrust it to a professional master. He will assess the condition of the nails and adjust the main stages so as to achieve an optimal result, taking into account individual characteristics.
