How to solve a Rubik's cube
Miscellaneous / / September 16, 2023
To do this you need to master only four steps.
What is a Rubik's Cube
The Rubik's Cube is a mechanical puzzle that invented Hungarian sculptor Ernő Rubik in 1974. The classic version is a large cube with sides of 3 × 3 squares. Its faces rotate around three internal axes.
Each of the 6 faces consists of 9 identical squares, painted in a certain color. As a rule, they are arranged in pairs: white opposite yellow, blue opposite green, red opposite orange. By flipping the faces, you can rearrange the colored squares in different orders. The main task is to collect puzzle so that on each side there are elements of the same color.
The 3×3 cube is considered the most popular version. But there are options with sides 2 × 2, 4 × 4, 5 × 5 and so on. The largest Rubik's cube has a format of 21 × 21 squares.
By the way, the current world record for assembling a 3×3 puzzle belongs to Max Park. In June 2023, at a competition in California, he solved the cube in 3.13 seconds.
How to solve a Rubik's cube
There are two simplest combinations. Each involves the top of the cube. In the first method, the right area of the puzzle is involved in the assembly and, accordingly, the right hand is active. In the second method - left.
1. How to solve a Rubik's cube with your right hand
Take the cube in your left hand or place it in front of you. During the assembly process, do not change the position of the toy in relation to you, so as not to disrupt the diagram.
Remember the algorithm, which consists of four steps:
1. Rotate the right side of the cube clockwise once.
2. Rotate the top of the cube clockwise once.
3. Rotate the right side of the cube counterclockwise once.
4. Also rotate the top of the cube counterclockwise once.
Repeat these steps until you have completed the puzzle by color.
2. How to solve a Rubik's cube with your left hand
Hold the cube with your right hand or place it in front of you. During the assembly process, you should also not change the position toys towards you for the algorithm to work.
Next, master these four steps:
1. Rotate the left side of the cube counterclockwise once.
2. Rotate the top of the cube counterclockwise once.
3. Spin the left side of the cube clockwise once.
4. Turn the top again cube once, but clockwise.
Repeat the steps without breaking their sequence until you solve the Rubik's cube.
