The option will be available with restrictions and only in the mobile version.
Google is developing emoji reactions for Gmail that will make the email service look like an instant messenger and allow users to respond to emails faster. New feature discovered in the iOS application code. Additional evidence noticed in the latest Android APK.
It is expected that emoticons will appear only in the mobile version of the service and will be available on the main screen and through the three-dot additional menu.
The code also mentions restrictions that will prevent some emoji from being used in encrypted messages or in large groups. And in one answer it is permissible to use no more than 20 reactions; in some cases the threshold will be expanded to 50. Other details are still unknown.
Google has not yet officially announced work on the new feature, so the timing of its appearance in Gmail can only be guessed at. Company Representative Madison Cushman Weld advised The Verge, reached for comment, said to "stay tuned" for updates, adding "😉,✋📻" at the end of the message.
