This is a full-fledged laptop with a built-in gamepad that will fit in almost any bag.
On IndieGoGo crowdfunding, a new gadget from the Chinese manufacturer GPD, which specializes in compact laptops, has appeared. A novelty called Win Mini is positioned as a portable game console for Windows, but if desired, it can be used as a regular laptop - albeit a very small one.
The main feature of the device is its compactness: the screen is 7-inch, the weight is only 520 grams. For a more comfortable grip, the manufacturer offers to buy additional pads with which the console lies in the hands, like a game controller.
The manufacturer claims that when playing at 1080p, the console produces stable 60 fps and higher in modern games like Elden Ring, God of War and Far Cry 6 - however, at the cost of graphics settings "low" or "average".
In the top modification, Win Mini comes with a Ryzen 7 7840U processor, 32 or 64 GB of RAM and an SSD up to 2 TB. The standard model is simpler: Ryzen 5 7640U, 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD.
The screen here is a 7-inch IPS with 1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and LTPS support. Peak brightness is 500 nits.
Built into the lower half of the gamepad offers joysticks with Hall sensors, the ability to click to L3 / R3 key emulation, while the L1/R1 and L2/R2 triggers are physical and located on the sides console. There are also programmable L4/R4 keys, plus X/Y/A/B keys and a D-pad. Between the halves of the gamepad is a touchpad, below is a backlit keyboard.
Pre-orders of GPD Win Mini are already open on crowdfunding IndieGoGo. The prices are:
- Ryzen 5, 16 + 512 GB - $ 699 (≈68,400 rubles);
- Ryzen 7, 32 + 512 GB - $ 869 (≈85,100 rubles);
- Ryzen 7, 32 GB + 2 TB - $ 999 (≈97,800 rubles);
- Ryzen 7, 64 GB + 2 TB - $ 1,149 (≈112,500 rubles);
- Overlay in the form of a gamepad - $ 29 (≈2,800 rubles).
The project has already raised more than 72 million rubles (300 times more than the amount needed to launch). Orders are expected to ship in November.
