Google introduced a new Android logo - with a voluminous robot

Google officially introduced new 3D Android logo. The green robot has become more alive and adaptable. The authors of the idea were inspired by material design to give it "more volume and character."

Now the robot can be depicted using different materials, colors and even accessories. This visual symbol looks as dynamic as Android itself, the developers added.

Along with this, Google abandoned the lowercase "android" in the logo and added a capital letter "A". So the name of the system will receive "more weight next to the Google logo."

The company also updated the look of the full-length robot to "ensure it can easily transition between digital and real environments, making it a versatile and reliable companion across channels, platforms and contexts."

The updated logo, 3D robot and corporate identity will appear on Android devices starting this year.
