Xiaomi has added four more popular smartphones to the End of Support (EoS) list. This means they will no longer receive security updates.
So, the budget Redmi 9 Prime, Redmi 9C NFC and Poco M2 Pro, as well as the flagship Redmi K30 Ultra, will remain without fresh patches. XiaomiUI Portal recommends owners of these devices to switch to more modern models - without software support from the manufacturer, the safety of data on outdated smartphones can be at risk. In addition, they will not fix emerging vulnerabilities that attackers can exploit over time.
However, owners of gadgets included in the EoS list can use verified custom firmware from enthusiasts with up-to-date security patches.
Recall recently Xiaomi has also completely dropped support for Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Redmi Note 9C, Redmi Note 10 5G and Poco M2.
