At the same time showed new full-size headphones.
Nearly three months after announcement Portable Project Q Sony finally disclosed more details about the device. In particular, the final name became known: PlayStation Portal.
This is a device for playing via Remote Play with PS5: that is, the “adult” console processes everything, and the portable one broadcasts the image. It's essentially a Dualsense with a center screen that connects to the PS5 via Wi-Fi.
It uses an 8-inch LCD screen capable of displaying 1080p @ 60 fps. All PS5 games that use the Dualsense controller are supported, except for projects for PS VR and Play Link (games controlled from a smartphone).
PlayStation Portal will go on sale later this year for $200.
At the same time, Sony told more about the Pulse Explore TWS headphones and showed a new full-size Pulse Elite Bluetooth headset. The latter stands out for its retractable microphone and AI noise cancellation.
Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore will be the first PlayStation headphones to use specially engineered planar magnetic drivers for audiophile listening quality level. Sony promises sound comparable to premium headphones.
When using PS Portal, these headphones can be plugged directly into a portable console rather than the PS5 to minimize latency. To connect to the PS5, a special adapter will be used, which also provides minimal latency and lossless sound. Fast connection between devices is present. In addition to PS5 and PS Portal, they are also compatible with Windows and macOS computers.
The Pulse Elite will cost $150 and the Pulse Explore will cost $200. Their release dates have yet to be revealed.
