European climate monitoring service Copernicus confirmedthat July was the hottest month on record. The average temperature rose to 16.96 degrees, which is 0.33 warmer than July 2019, which still held the record.
The global mean temperature in July 2023 has been confirmed to be the highest on record. We estimate that this month was about 1.5 degrees warmer than the 1850-1900 average.

Average temperatures have risen significantly in several countries in South America and in much of Antarctica. Global warming also caused heatwaves to become hotter and longer lasting, and extreme weather events such as storms and floods now occur more frequently.
Although 2023 is not over yet, it has already become the third warmest year on record.
Even if this is only a temporary phenomenon, it shows the need for efforts to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, which are the main driver of global warming.

Set a new temperature record ocean surface. According to forecasters, on July 30, it rose to 20.96 degrees. The previous record was set in March 2016 - 20.95 degrees. It is expected that in the coming years warming will intensify due to the El Niño phenomenon.
Scientists note that these records will have dire consequences for both people and the planet. They will inevitably lead to more intense extreme weather events and may change the marine ecosystem.
