"Solstice" and "Citizen Kane": popular films that turned out to be disappointments are discussed on the Web
Miscellaneous / / August 10, 2023
Buzzfeed Portal arranged poll among readers to find out which popular films disappointed them when watching. The editors themselves cited the Suicide Squad as an example, which raised the bar of expectations with cool trailers, while the picture itself did not correspond to this level at all. We can also note the seventh part of Star Wars, which disappointed many, and the recent thriller Don't Worry, Darling, which for many was not saved even by Florence Pugh and Harry Styles in the lead roles. Here's what else was mentioned in the comments.
1. "Cold heart". Many argue that this is the best Disney cartoon, almost better than The Lion King, which in itself is a strong statement. And I don’t want to say anything bad about the cartoon, it just didn’t reach such a level of expectations, which left a feeling of disappointment, — karileah143.
2. La La Land, which was brutal considering I love so many of the cast. I wanted to cry at how bad it was, especially considering how many good things were said about him, — jamestheflames20.
3. Many people already forget how big an actor Will Smith was in his time. He was the highest paid actor in the world - and then Wild Wild West came out. It is easy to understand that the film was so-so when even the soundtrack is better than the picture itself - jamesarthurwriters.
4. «Wonder Woman 1984». I can't believe that the director is the same as the first part! Some nonsense. Mediocre special effects and too many subplots, none of which got the normal development - wordslut.
5. A friend praised The Nightmare Before Christmas to me so much before I watched it for the first (and last) time that I was extremely disappointed. I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't. kelseyj4d5e1133e.
6. "Citizen Kane". To hell with those who say this movie is a must-see. It's only worth watching for studies or if you're studying film history, and even so... Rosebud is a sled. Don't thank - too much tenough.
7. "Solstice". Everyone is so excited about it, they say it's the best horror movie of all time. I almost went to the cinema, but ended up watching it online a couple of years later, and it turned out to be a complete bore and a waste of time — sperkeles.
8. Any remake of a cartoon or animated series with live actors. They manage to take the whole soul out of them, replacing it with action scenes that are 90% CGI - which is also animation. Live action doesn't make a story better or mature, it often just impoverishes it. Animation takes more time, energy and effort to create, because it is a real art, where every frame is precisely aligned. Jen.
