Netflix postpones 6 original films to 2024

Under data resource What's on Netflix, the online cinema is gradually reducing the list of projects that were supposed to be released in 2023. So, 6 films previously announced for this year were postponed to 2024 - mostly without specifying an exact new date. We are talking about the following projects:

• Damsel is a fantasy film starring Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven in Stranger Things) as a princess whose life goes from fairy tale to hell. Initially, the release was planned on October 13, but for the first time about the transfer started talking back in March.
• Players is a romantic comedy about a sports journalist who, along with her best friend, has been helping to bring people together for a long time, but unexpectedly falls in love with one of her "goals". The release was planned for this fall.
• Spaceman, one of four Adam Sandler films from 2023, has been pushed back to 2024. It's an ambitious sci-fi drama that stars Sandler as the first Czech astronaut. The project is directed by Johan Renck (Chernobyl).

• "Lift" is a comedy film about a former thief who is persuaded by an ex-girlfriend and the FBI to commit incredible robbery aboard a plane flying from London to Zurich to prevent a terrorist attack. The film has been rescheduled from August 2023 to January 12, 2024.
• A Family Affair is a romantic comedy starring Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron. The original release date is November 17, 2023.
• Shirley, a film that was supposed to earn Netflix several film award nominations, is dedicated to Shirley Chisholm, an American presidential candidate in the 1972 election. The postponement is not associated with strikes, but with unsuccessful test screenings, after which the film was sent for revision.

The reasons for the postponements of the films are not specified (with the exception of "Shirley"), but the schedule was most likely affected by the US writers' strike, which has been going on since May.
