In some shots, it's hard to tell it apart from a typical sci-fi blockbuster trailer.
Jokes that neural networks will soon be able to replace striking actors and screenwriters cease to be jokes. Nicolas Neubert, senior designer at the German company Elli (Volkswagen Group), showed the trailer for the film "Genesis" (Genesis), which is completely created with the help of AI technology.
Video author published on Twitter, where in just a couple of days the number of views exceeded one million. Also, major online publications wrote about him, including Forbes.
The picture is described as a dystopian sci-fi epic in the spirit of the "Terminator" - about humanity enslaved by machines. However, as such, of course, there is no film, so far this is only a hinted trailer.
For key images in the video, the author used a neural network midjourney. Another neural network runway, made a video out of them. The soundtrack was taken from the Pixabay service, and CapCut mobile editor was used for editing.
The author himself notes that it is important to understand that the trailer was created not by neural networks, but using neural networks. So far, this is still a completely controlled process that requires the direct participation of a person. It was especially difficult to make the images in the same art direction, so that the characters and lighting were the same from frame to frame, Neubert noted.
In the end, according to the author, it took him 7 hours to make the trailer, 316 clues in Midjourney, 128 images augmented by a neural network, 310 videos created with Runway, and one video created with texta. A total of 44 videos were used in the trailer.
The total cost of such a project is $95 for Runway and $30 for Midjourney (≈11,500 rubles in total).
