Apple patents AirPods with brain and ECG tracking

Headphones can become a self-tuning medical device.
Apple patented Next-generation AirPods with a new sensor system that can track biosignals and the electrical activity of the user's brain. It is assumed that this will work due to the new electrodes in the body and tips of the accessory.
The application specifies capabilities such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), electrooculography (EOG), and electrocardiogram (ECG). All these studies are conducted to identify various diseases of the brain, vision and heart.
It is clarified that brain activity can be monitored using electrodes placed on the user's scalp. However, in some cases, they can be installed inside or around the user's outer ear. However, this may require individual configuration of the device.
To solve the problem, the company is working on technology that will allow AirPods to automatically match various electrodes for measuring biosignals depending on the personal parameters of a person and even the way they are worn headphones. Moreover, they will regularly monitor this data and reconfigure in case of any changes.
However, it is worth remembering that the presence of a patent does not mean the imminent emergence of a technology or device. Often the ideas described in them remain only on paper.
