Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus and Tab S9 Ultra waterproof tablets announced

Samsung held a traditional summer presentation of Galaxy Unpacked products. On it, the company, among other things, introduced three tablets - Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus and Tab S9 Ultra.

All new items are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which Samsung also uses in the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. In addition, they became one of the first tablets in the world to receive IP67 protection (from moisture and dust).

The Galaxy Tab S9 has an 11-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The tablet is equipped with a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 13-megapixel main camera. And both can record video at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. The device is powered by a battery with a capacity of 8400 mAh, there is a fast charge of 45 watts. The model will be available in two variants: 8GB RAM / 128GB storage and 12GB RAM / 256GB storage.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Plus features a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2800 x 1752 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The tablet has a 12-megapixel selfie camera on the front and a dual rear camera of 13 and 8 megapixels. Front and rear support video recording up to 4K at 60 frames per second. The battery is 10,090 mAh, also with 45 W charging. This model will be sold with 256 GB and 512 GB of memory - both options with 12 GB of RAM.

The most top-end tablet in the line is the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It has a 14.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2960 x 1848 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+. The display has a cutout for two 12-megapixel front cameras - one with a wide-angle lens and the other with an ultra-wide-angle lens. The front automatically scales a person's face during video calls. On the back, there is a 13-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle one.

The gadget is powered by a battery with a capacity of 11,200 mAh with support for charging up to 45 watts. There will be three variations - with 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of memory. The terabyte version has 16 GB of RAM, the rest have 12 GB of RAM.

The Galaxy Tab S9 series OLED screens are equipped with Vision Booster technology, which maintains contrast even in bright sunlight. The redesigned S Pen can now charge regardless of orientation.

The tablets are equipped with four speakers, a slot for microSD memory cards (up to 1 TB) and a fingerprint scanner in the display.

The Galaxy Tab S9 weighs 498 grams and is 5.9 millimeters thick. Tab S9 Plus - 581 grams and 5.7 millimeters. Tab S9 Ultra - 732 grams and 5.5 millimeters, respectively.

All three Samsung tablets run One UI 5.1.1 based on Android 13. Devices will receive security updates for the next five years.

Prices and Availability

Already today, you can pre-order the new items (and get a Slim Book Cover keyboard as a gift), and they will be on sale on August 11.

The Galaxy Tab S9, S9 Plus, and S9 Ultra will start at $800, $1,000, and $1,200 respectively. This is approximately 72,000, 90,000 and 108,000 rubles.
