Polish studio CD Projekt RED released update 4.04 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The patch adds new content to the game, including alternative character designs, improves performance, and fixes a number of bugs.
So, in the PC version, the hair of the heroes stopped shining due to ray tracing. And the game no longer crashes on Bald Mountain because of them. We also fixed an issue where gamepad input would continue to work while The Witcher 3 was paused. And the FPS counter was fixed when activating DLSS.
In the console versions, Sony and Microsoft have finalized the hairstyles of some characters - their hair no longer shows through the texture of the Nilfgaardian helmet. Fixed a flickering screen issue during gwent games. And improved stability when loading a save file after a long game in ray tracing mode.
In addition, on PlayStation 5, The Witcher 3 stopped crashing during the Last Wish and Touch missions. And on Xbox Series X, we fixed a bug due to which, when choosing the “Cross-platform save” setting, the cloud save status interface did not update.
For the Nintendo Switch, the developers have finally added a cross-save feature. It is activated automatically after logging into your account.
For this console, some interface elements have also been redesigned, which made the game on it more convenient and understandable. And they added a new mission - "During the Eternal Flame" (with rewards based on series of the same name on Netflix). In addition, Buttercup has an alternate appearance here (like a character from a TV show).
In total, the patch has more than 50 fixes and improvements. The full list can be viewed at site studios.
