A beta version for Mac is on the way.
Swiss developer of secure services Proton finally introduced desktop version of your Proton Drive cloud storage. True, so far only for Windows.
The service offers the same set of features as similar Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive. It is distinguished only by end-to-end encryption of all files. Apparently, this will be the main argument for poaching customers from competitors.
Users also get offline access to the vault, allowing them to view and edit files even without an internet connection.
However, these benefits are only available on a paid basis. A separate subscription to Proton Drive provides 200 GB and costs $3.99 (≈363 rubles) per month. There is also a premium Proton Unlimited tier for $11.49 (≈1000 rubles) per month, which expands cloud up to 500 GB and includes all the advanced features of other secure Proton services - mail, calendar, password manager And VPN apps. You can only use 1 GB for free.
Recall that the Proton Drive web application (without automatic synchronization) is already available to users, as well as the service's mobile applications for Android and iOS. In the near future, the company promises to release the first beta version for Mac.
