Original design, easy operation, keyless start and USB-C port for your smartphone.
In 2021 BMW announced futuristic electric motorcycle named CE 02. After almost two years, the novelty is finally coming out into a series. It focuses on "emotional appeal, driving pleasure and simple, almost intuitive operation."
The company positions the CE 02 as a cross between a scooter and a motorcycle. It was created for the urban environment and the youth audience - those who value lightness and mobility.
With a weight of 132 kg, which is quite small by today's standards, the CE 02 can reach speeds of up to 95 km/h. Two batteries, each with just under 2 kWh, provide a range of 90 km.
Recharging is carried out using an external charger - about the same as that of electric bicycles. A full charge will take about 5 hours using a standard 0.9 kW unit, or about 3.5 hours using a more powerful 1.5 kW unit. Charging time from 20 to 80% is 2.8 hours and 2.3 hours respectively.
The CE 02 also offers alloy wheels, keyless start, adjustable brake lever, reverse gear and a USB-C port for charging devices such as mobile phones.
MSRP of $7,599 makes the CE 02 the cheapest BMW electric motorcycle to date.
