Navigation service "2GIS" launched immersive 3D maps with high detail of some buildings and parks. Objects are represented down to the trees around them.
Depending on the time of day, the display mode of realistic models changes: as in a real city, they look different at night than during the day. They can be zoomed in and viewed from different angles.

So far, the innovation is available only in 10 cities - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Samara, Saratov and Vologda.
Thus, 20 objects were visualized on the capital’s map, including St. Basil’s Cathedral, the main building Moscow State University, skyscraper on Kotelnicheskaya embankment, VDNH entrance group, Moscow Planetarium and Ostankinskaya TV tower. In St. Petersburg, these are the Kazan and St. Isaac's Cathedrals, the Alexander Column, the Savior on Spilled Blood Museum and the Lakhta Center.
The developers promise to continue to improve the realism of maps. For example, they plan to add light waves on bodies of water, shading in wooded areas and "bare" trees in the winter in the northern regions (in the south they will always be with foliage).
In addition, changes to the maps will also affect zoos in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk. In place of the enclosures, you can see icons depicting animals that live there.
The application will also be taught to display the current markings on the roads, three-dimensional junctions with level separation and yard areas. Maps will be updated gradually.
The company noted that immersive objects do not increase the size of downloaded maps. They are automatically loaded if there is a stable Internet connection.
