Where to eat in Kazan: Lifehacker's editorial choice

The coffee shop is located in the very center of Kazan. Here you can have breakfast with bagels with different fillings, the guys bake the buns for them themselves. There are also delicious mini-cheesecakes and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere.

In "Fairy Tale" you need to take delicious national pastries and chicken noodles, as well as tea with milk and dried fruits for company. And, of course, ice cream of our own production - for the sake of it we return here every trip.

Gastrobar New Kitchen stole my heart not only with its cozy interior and exquisite menu, but also with the most friendly staff.

For example, when I admitted that I really liked the salad with crispy eggplant and I would like to cook this at home, the waitress offered to send me the recipe on WhatsApp. It's funny that when we returned here a year later, this beautiful girl was already welcoming us in the role of administrator.

In summer, the bar terrace offers a wonderful view. There are good bartenders and waiters who can sit down at a table and have a friendly chat about alcohol and the city. If it is difficult to decide on a drink, they will make a cocktail according to your wishes: a few words, and the bartenders will determine what you like.

I love having breakfast at May. A cozy place with delicious bread and a whole showcase of desserts that will not leave anyone indifferent. You sit down at a table, and an attentive waiter is already carrying a glass of water with lemon.

The staff will always advise what to order according to your preferences. My top: shakshuka, cheesecakes with a mountain of delicious berries and avocado bruschetta. I recommend!

A very small establishment, which can be difficult to get into, but the author's cuisine and cocktails absolutely justify all possible inconveniences. For me it is always number one in the list of places for the evening when I am in Kazan.

If you have already tasted traditional Tatar food and want something special, I highly recommend Artel, a stylish bistro with a Parisian atmosphere. Here, local products and techniques from European and Asian cuisines are tastefully combined.

For example, French choux buns are stuffed with dried cottage cheese corte, and Tuscan-style tartare is made from horsemeat. For the smoked bream pate with bread, which is baked in a bistro on their own, I would again overcome 1,500 kilometers.

This restaurant is always full seating, so it is better to book a place in advance. Here is a very tasty pizza with pear and gorgonzola and divine desserts. You can try seafood from the aquarium, for example, sea urchin - a very specific taste.

The greenest place on the street. Once inside, you find yourself in a mini-jungle. Pleasant music plays here, wonderful and polite staff helps not only with the choice of dishes, but also drinks.

There is a summer veranda decorated with plants and flowers. Green dog is equally well suited for a business meeting, and for gatherings with friends, and for a hike with the whole family.

Bar with an incredible range of cocktails. You can order something from the menu, but I advise you to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders about your taste preferences: the staff are great at improvising and choosing a drink.

I ended up in Salt by accident, but I fell in love with the atmosphere so much that I ended up returning here three times during the trip. In the evening, you should go here for cocktails with bugulma - a local balm made from 24 herbs and berries, concerts of indie bands and noisy parties, come back in the morning for hearty hangover breakfast sets, and in the afternoon look at lunches with simple and understandable food.

A separate like for tables on the balcony and a spacious yard with sun loungers and a lawn, in summer it is ideal.

There are definitely more than a hundred of all kinds of tinctures - on fruits, berries, herbs, nuts. There are, for example, fig, quince or cedar. But my recommendation, if you like sweet things, are creamy tinctures. A special top is salted caramel. It tastes like unsweetened melted toffee.

You can order a separate glass or a set, and small snacks will be brought to it - fruits, pickles or nuts, depending on the tastes of the selected tinctures. You can take a whole rook from 34 stacks - it looks impressive and frightening at the same time.
