Mood Color Blue: NASA Reveals Incredible New 4K Video From Mars
Miscellaneous / / July 01, 2023
NASA space agency shared new video from the surface of Mars in 4K resolution. It was assembled from many photographs taken with the powerful HIRISE camera on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The video shows the corrugated terrain inside an ancient crater more than 270 kilometers wide. In it you can see dried up streams, steep rocky climbs and other features of the landscape of the Red Planet. This region is called Aram Chaos.
The absence of red shades familiar to Mars and the predominance of blue are immediately striking. This is due to the huge amount of basalt, an igneous rock that formed on the planet during times of volcanic activity.
The HIRISE camera can detect even very small objects, such as a kitchen table. Thanks to this video, it turned out to be very detailed.
