WhatsApp allowed to transfer chats between devices using a QR code

Whatsapp appeared a new and faster way to transfer conversations from your old phone to a new one. Now Wi-Fi and a QR code generated by the messenger are enough for this.

To transfer data, make sure both devices are connected to the same local network. Then, on your old device, open the app settings and select Chats, then Chat Transfer.

After that, you will see a QR code. To complete the transfer process, it must be scanned using a new phone.

The company noted that this is the most secure method, since with it the data is encrypted and transmitted only through the user's local network. However, it only works with gadgets running one operating system - either iOS or Android. In other cases, you need to use cloud storage or third-party software, as before.
