Miscellaneous / / June 21, 2023
They will remain only in Outlook by subscription.
Microsoft refuse from supporting the free Mail and Calendar apps for Windows 11. Already at the end of the year they will be removed from the set of pre-installed programs of the operating system.
After that, they will be available for download in the Microsoft Store for some time, but in September 2024 they will also disappear from it.
In return, the company will offer users to upgrade to Outlook, which will be the default on Windows PCs in the future. It's an integrated client for email, calendar, tasks, notes, files, and more.
This personal manager is part of the Microsoft 365 subscription package. In other words, "Mail" and "Calendar" will not disappear anywhere, but simply become paid.
Microsoft has neglected these apps for more than two years now - they have not received new features or major updates since the launch of Windows 11. The company pays all its attention to Outlook, in which it regularly expands the functionality. New email controls have already been added to the program,
support work and personal accounts, integration with Gmail and more.Read also🧐
