The mysterious stranger could belong to the royal family and be one of the first Christians in England.
British explorers restored the face of a 16-year-old girl who lived in the 7th century. Her remains were found back in 2012 on the outskirts of Cambridge (UK).
Scientists used detailed measurements of her skull to reconstruct her appearance. These calculations were put into a computer model, and then supplemented with averaged data on the soft tissues of Caucasoid women.
DNA analysis has not yet been carried out, so the color of the eyes and hair may not correspond to reality. Otherwise, however, the resulting image gives a good idea of how this girl looked in life, the researchers are sure.
Her left eye was slightly lower than her right, about half a centimeter. In real life this would be very noticeable.

Although she was buried in the territory of modern Britain, she was originally from Central Europe. Most likely from southern Germany. She moved at about the age of seven, as indicated by a characteristic change in the proportion of protein in the composition of bones and teeth. That is, her diet has changed markedly.
The cause of her death is still a mystery, but scientists have already established that she was suffering from some kind of illness. Perhaps it was she who became lethal.
The stranger was buried in an unusual way - lying on a carved wooden bed with a rare cross made of gold and garnet, precious pins and in beautiful clothes. Apparently, she belonged to an aristocratic or even royal family. In addition, she was a Christian, which was rare for England at that time.
At the end of the 7th century, the Pope sent pilgrims to England, led by the theologian Aurelius Augustine. They were supposed to convert the pagan British kings to Christianity. The girl could have been part of this mission, researchers say.
