NASA is gearing up for the historic Europe Clipper mission due to launch in 2024. Its main goal will be to study Europa, one of Jupiter's moons.
To draw attention to the expedition, the agency came up with an unusual action - any earthling can send his name to the moon of the gas giant. NASA promises to sign with them a small work "In Praise of Mystery: A Poem for Europe", which will fly away with the probe.
The names of the participants will be engraved on a special microchip along with the text of the piece and installed on the body of the Europa Clipper. Applications Applications are accepted until December 31, 2023.
The launch of the automatic interplanetary station Europa Clipper is scheduled for October 10, 2024. The probe will study ice-covered Europe for several years, making 45 flybys of the satellite. Scientists believe that liquid water is hiding under its frozen shield and it may be habitable.
