Asus officially introduced portable console ROG Ally. This is one of the most powerful portable PCs on the market. However, battery life can be a disappointment for many gamers.
There will be two versions of the device in total: on the AMD Ryzen Z1 processor (6 cores, 12 threads, TDP up to 30 W) and on the Z1 Extreme (8 cores, 16 threads, TDP up to 30 W). At the same time, it is still possible to connect a 65-watt power supply and increase the power.
ROG Ally has 16 GB of RAM. The drive is 512 GB. There is also a microSD card slot.
The device was equipped with a 40 Wh battery. It lasts for 2-4 hours. For comparison: Steam Deck Works about seven hours without recharging. But the Asus gadget quickly restores "strength" - up to 50% in 40 minutes, even during the game.
The set-top box has a 7-inch Full HD screen with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz and a brightness of 500 nits. It runs on Windows 11 and offers 3 months of Game Pass for free.
In terms of dimensions, the ROG Ally is slightly smaller than the Steam Deck. The dimensions of the novelty are 280 x 111 x 21 millimeters. It weighs 608 grams.
There are Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 adapters, two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and a standard headphone jack.
The model with the AMD Ryzen Z1 chip was priced at $599 (≈45,000 rubles). Its release date has not yet been announced. A more powerful variant will cost $699 (≈53,000 rubles). It will go on sale on June 13th.
