Android file manager got a new design
Miscellaneous / / May 04, 2023
Google Play has released a new version of the default Files app from Google. It brings the interface to the Material Design 3 design language, the first major visual update since 2021.
The updated version is designed to make it easier to access items: all folders and categories stand out against a neutral background better than in the previous monochromatic interface. Another change was the constant display of the search bar at the top, regardless of which section or folder is open.
The Nearby Share section is more detailed and highlights the main advantages of the technology - including local data transfer without an Internet connection. This update did not bring any new features: all changes are concentrated in the interface.
To get the new design, don't forget to update "Files" to the latest version v1.292.525444002. It seems that a server update is also being distributed in parallel, which is why the fresh interface is not yet available to everyone. If you still don't get it, you'll have to wait a few days.
