WatchOS 10 will introduce a brand new widget system

The concept of the Apple Watch interface will change dramatically, but users will have a choice.
Well-known insider and Bloomberg columnist Mark Gurman toldthat in the upcoming watchOS 10, widgets will become the "centerpiece" of the Apple Watch interface. They will show useful data without opening applications, which can change many of the usual scenarios for using the watch.
Gurman compared the new system to iOS 14, which brought widgets to the iPhone. He also added that it would look similar to widget stacks in iOS and iPadOS, which would allow users to "link" a lot of useful widgets.
The main purpose of this innovation is to allow you to scroll through a number of different widgets - for tracking activity, weather, stock quotes, calendar appointments and more - instead of launching every application separately.
Apple is also apparently testing changes to Apple Watch button functions. For example, pressing the Digital Crown can launch a new kind of widget instead of going to the home screen.
Gurman believes the move is an acknowledgment that apps like on the iPhone "doesn't always make sense on the watch" as "Apple Watch apps have barely caught on." And due to the radical change in the concept of the watchOS 10 interface, Apple may make the new screen with widgets optional, that is, turn off, so that users can stay with the familiar menu.
Apple is expected to show the new watchOS10 already at WWDC, which kicks off in early June.
