Ambiguous films and their interpretations. Discussed in the Caretaker podcast
Miscellaneous / / August 25, 2021
We figure out whether it is worth looking for hidden meaning in individual films - or all that is needed, and so lies on the surface.
Not everyone likes simple plot films. And it’s true: it seems that there is no point in looking at a picture where everything is clear, logical, and generally stereotyped. It is much more interesting to delve into the unknown, discover new meanings in works that have been studied for a long time and offer more and more new interpretations.
In this issue, the hosts of the "Watchman" Alexei Khromov and Mikhail Volnyh try to figure out how the styles of Andrei Tarkovsky and Christopher Nolan, argue how to determine whether a "dummy" is in front of you or a work of genius, and are also looking for logic in the "Inner Empire" David Lynch.
