A student created a smart monocle with GPT-4 - AI prompts answers on dates and interviews

Staying attentive during boring conversations has never been so easy - the main thing is not to fall asleep.
Stanford student Brian Chang created smart monocle rizzGPT, which suggests answers during dialogues with other people. He announced his development back in March, but the media paid attention to it only a month later.
This is an open source Monocle AR device that uses an AI model GPT-4 and the Whisper speech recognition system from the same OpenAI. The device is able to perceive text and sound, as well as understand and process a live conversation.
“Say goodbye to awkward dates and job interviews,” Chang wrote.
The monocle runs on LifeOS, which Chang has manually trained on private messages, photos, and other data. Thanks to this, the gadget has learned to recognize the faces of his friends and prompt the relevant details when talking with them.

Even when we are talking with friends, walking, I feel that computers can do much more. And I don't think people think big enough.

The device was tested during a mock interview for a reporter position at Vice. Following the conversation, the manager of the company notedthat the AI coped with all the questions was adequate and eloquent, but rather formulaic.
- For example, when asked "Why should we hire you?", RizzGPT replied, "Thank you for this position. I believe I am the best candidate for this job because I have a passion for journalism and a deep understanding of today's media landscape."
- He easily answered the question about cowardice, but in a way that looked like a strong feature: "My biggest weakness is the tendency to be too focused on details in my work."
- The AI did not disappoint during the creative part either: “If I were an animal, I would like to be a cheetah. They are incredibly fast and agile, which reflects my ambition, drive and focus."
Chang acknowledged that RizzGPT still needs work. For example, the device sometimes responds late, which can lead to awkward pauses. Plus, he is not yet able to use personal information without manual training. In addition, a monocle can cause discomfort while wearing, so you should think about updating the design.
