Outlook on Mac now has the ability to create work and personal profiles
Miscellaneous / / April 18, 2023
A handy feature for those who often send emails to the wrong people.
Microsoft updated Outlook for Mac by adding the Profiles feature. Now users can create different accounts, such as "Home" or "Work", and quickly switch between them. And also choose for them different colorful themes.
If you create profiles for work and personal accounts, then in work mode you will not see notifications from a personal account and vice versa. You can quickly switch between them using the Control + Tab hotkeys.
Microsoft has also added automatic switching with Siri. That is, you can specify, for example, working hours, and the system itself will exit the personal profile at the specified time interval. Convenient for those who often send letters to the wrong address.
In addition, all profiles can also be linked to Focus Filters on macOS, which provides even more options for app automation.
As a reminder, macOS users currently don't need a Microsoft 365 subscription or an Office license to use Outlook on Mac. Service last month
became completely free. You can link your mailboxes to it in Gmail, iCloud, Yahoo and any email accounts with IMAP support. The new feature is currently only available to members of the Insiders program. It will roll out to all users in the coming months.
