Google speeds up Chrome on macOS and Android
Miscellaneous / / April 14, 2023
In some cases, the browser has become faster by 30%.
With the release of Chrome 112 in early April, Google made a number of improvements to speed up the browser on macOS and Android.
From the Chromium blog post are described Chrome optimizations that have improved the performance of the browser - and especially the speed of its work. For example, in the case of Chrome for macOS, developers have improved several JavaScript functions, including toString() and join(), which are used in many websites and frameworks.
This and several other changes in previous updates have resulted in a 10% increase in the speed of Chrome on macOS in the last 3 months. But these are trifles compared to the Android version.
Google doesn't go into details, but promises that flagship Android smartphone users will see a 30% speed boost. On which devices such results were obtained, it is not specified.
One way or another, any performance improvements to a popular browser are a nice thing. To test the changes on your smartphone or computer, don't forget to update Chrome to the latest version.
