A chatbot could revolutionize the traditional search job.
Google plans to add artificial intelligence features to its search engine. This was announced by the chief executive officer of the company Sundar Pichai in interview WSJ.
Advances in artificial intelligence will increase Google's ability to respond to multiple search queries, Pichai said. He dismissed the notion that chatbots posed a threat to the company's search business, which accounts for more than half of parent Alphabet Inc.'s revenue.
Google has long been a leader in the development of computer programs called large language models, or LLMs, that can process and respond to natural language cues text. But she hasn't yet used this technology to influence how people use search, Sundar Pichai added.
Will people be able to ask Google questions and interact with the LLM in the context of the search? Undoubtedly.

Microsoft is already implementing the technology behind the system ChatGPT, in your search engine Bing
, and Google is facing one of the biggest threats to its core business in years. The situation is exacerbated by pressure from investors demanding to cut costs. In January, Alphabet said it would cut about 12,000 jobs, or 6% of its workforce, in the largest layoff in the company's history.Recall that in March, Google opened public access to bard, your AI chatbot. Initially, the company did not announce plans to integrate such technologies into the search engine, but competition with Microsoft likely forced plans to change on the fly.
The head of Google said the company will continue to improve Bard with new AI models, but declined to comment when the product would become available for free without a waiting list.
Smaller AI models will also become much more useful over time, allowing companies to develop their own algorithms and users to run algorithms on their personal devices. These technologies will be more accessible than people might expect, Pichai added.
