Windows Developers on the official blog announced on the launch of the Microsoft Store Ads advertising platform. It will allow the authors of games and programs to promote their products in the content store Microsoft Store.
Microsoft Store Ads was created to help developers grow their businesses by offering their apps or games to the right customers at the right time, and inspire Microsoft Store customers with great content. For example, a music app developer would be able to create an ad campaign to introduce their product to an audience that loves or makes music.

The platform is open to all Win32 application developers (.NET, C++, Electron, Flutter, Qt, Rust, and more). However, only those who have published their products in the Microsoft Store can run their ads. In other words, advertising will be limited only to the store and will work solely for the benefit of the store, without covering third-party resources.
The developers also noted that the Microsoft Store is trying to blur the boundaries between mobile devices and computers, offering "an application distribution experience that looks and feels more like mobile".
