The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter sent back a picture of a rock formation on Mars that looks very much like a bear's face. The photo was taken on December 12, noted in a press release from NASA and the University of Arizona.
A pattern in the crust has formed cracks that outline the Martian rock. Scientists suggest that once it could have been an impact crater filled with sediment. And the raised formation in the middle is probably a former volcano or mud vent.
The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter was launched in 2005. On it is the HiRISE apparatus - this is one of the most powerful cameras ever sent to another planet.
The reconnaissance satellite has already sent unusual images of the Red Planet to Earth, as has the Perseverance rover located there. For example, in a number of other images from Mars, one could see something similar to the ant farm, blueberries, noodles, flowers and also cat.
