This is an overhead model - just very compact and lightweight.
Sony continues to experiment with the shape of TWS headphones. After being warmly received LinkBuds the company introduced a new Float Run model with an overhead form factor that leaves the ears open during sports. This avoids discomfort and stuffy ears, and the behind-the-ear hook will help you not to lose the earpiece while jogging.
The manufacturer claims that the mount will allow the headphones to stay in place no matter how the user moves. Light rain is not a hindrance to them: moisture protection IPX4 is declared.
Sound is handled by unusually large 16mm drivers, which should provide “sound without compromise” to accompany your workouts. Bluetooth 5.0 is used for connection, SBC/AAC codec is supported.
For obvious reasons, the novelty will not cause discomfort in the ear canal, but they will not put pressure on the ears from the outside either: the device weighs only 33 g. At the same time, autonomy is a decent 10 hours, standard USB-C is used for charging.
Sony Float Run was estimated at $130 (≈9,000 rubles). They will go on sale in February and will be available only in black.
