Old heroes in new scenery surprise and delight.
"Cheburashka" was enough for 9 days of hire in order to become the most cash register Russian film in history. Already, the fees exceed 3 billion rubles. Why is the film so successful and is it worth watching?
1. The film successfully uses classic imagery
Cheburashka is one of the most recognizable characters that appeared in Soviet cartoons. The hero of unknown origin is popular not only in Russia, but also in European countries, and the greatest love among foreigners he earned in Japan.
But regular film adaptations of Eduard Uspensky's fairy tales led to the fact that many viewers had time to get tired of the same images. The new film solves this problem by changing some of the characters.
In the latest film adaptation, there is no crocodile, but there is a gardener Gennady, whose image is partially written off from the usual companion of Cheburashka. They did the same with the Old Woman Shapoklyak. The director of the chocolate factory, Rimma, is much younger, and dresses more stylishly, but still throws candy wrappers on purpose past the trash can. In general, this is a simple but bright villain of a family film.
Changes in the appearance of Cheburashka are associated with technology. This is an example of not the highest quality graphics, but the hero turned out to be bright and very cute - it is not surprising that the children liked him. Interestingly, the original version shown in the first teaser was eventually changed. And the new look looks better.
2. This is a good good movie
"Cheburashka" is a movie that gives only positive emotions. According to the laws of the genre, in the confrontation between good and evil, the former necessarily wins. Unexpected plot twists or too tense moments should not be expected either. Perhaps it is these aspects that make the film so popular.
Plays an important role in creating a good and pleasant atmosphere music. There are good new songs as well as re-recorded old ones - in particular, "Let them run clumsily ...".
3. The film will appeal to both children and adults.
An ideal family movie should appeal to both children and adults - "Cheburashka" copes with this task. For children, he gives a bright picture and simple jokes, and more serious topics are in store for adults. Thus, the film tells about the fragility of human relationships, betrayal and the pain that the loss of loved ones can bring.
In general, it will definitely not be boring.
4. The actors managed to create vivid images
There are good actors in the film who fit their characters perfectly. So, Sergey Garmash plays the gardener Gennady, Fyodor Dobronravov plays his friend. They made an excellent duet, revealing good heroes.
The role of Artyom Bystrov looks no less interesting - he plays the young Gennady.
But Elena Yakovleva managed to create a lively and vivid image of the villainess Rimma.
The voice acting of Cheburashka is a difficult task, which Olga Kuzmina successfully coped with. Actress, best known for her role as Nastya in the series "Kitchenβ, managed to make her hero not only bright, but also sincere. Perhaps she did even better than the animators who were responsible for the appearance of the character.
5. Visual style is interesting
The new "Cheburashka" is a diverse film, sometimes bright, sometimes warm, lamp-like. Gennady's apartment with a Soviet interior or his current wooden house, in which perfect order reigns, a cozy boutique with chocolate, the Sochi arboretum - different locations not only look great, but also reveal the characters who are in them.
The costume designers also did a great job, thanks to which the villain Rimma turned out to be as outrageous as possible. She is connected with the Old Woman Shapoklyak not only by behavioral traits, but also by small details in her clothes - in particular, vintage jewelry and hats.
The new "Cheburashka" is very pleasant family a film that had no analogues in the Russian box office for a long time. So it's definitely not worth ignoring the picture. Moreover, it combines both a bright visual range for a child and an interesting story with notes of nostalgia for an adult.
By the way, the success of the film made the authors declare that the story will be continued in the near future.
