Benedict Cumberbatch's 'Sherlock' Creator Ready to Film Season 5

Sherlock Chief Producer Steven Moffat has confirmed that he is ready to take on a new season of the show even tomorrow, if Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will agree to return.

Series Creator informed about this in a recent interview as part of the debut of his West End play "The Foe" on the morning program BBC Today. About the actors, he also said literally the following:

In November 2022, Freeman admitted in an interview that he did not know if Sherlock would ever return to the screens, but said that "this door will never be completely closed." Cumberbatch himself too did not deny a possible release of a new season or even a movie about Sherlock.

The series' fourth and final season, which aired in 2017, ended with a thrilling episode in which Holmes (Cumberbatch) finally confronted his sister. The episode was titled "The Final Riddle".
