Apple is preparing inexpensive TWS headphones AirPods Lite

Right now, Apple is selling four AirPods at once, from second-generation in-ears to AirPods Max on-ears, but none of these models can be called cheap. By data Jeff Pu, an analyst at Haitong Intl Tech Research, this may soon change: AirPods Lite are in development, designed to compete with budget headphones.

Pu also notes that the industry expects AirPods shipments to drop from 73 million in 2022 to 63 million in 2022. This will be affected by weak interest in AirPods 3, as well as the absence of new AirPods in the 2023 model line.

The analyst does not specify what AirPods Lite will be - he only notes that they will be the cheapest from Apple and will compete with low-cost models from other manufacturers. This means that you should expect a price tag below $ 129 - which is how much the AirPods 2 are now.

It is not excluded that Lite will be based on the second generation of basic AirPods. In addition, Apple may not release a new model at all, but simply once again reduce the price of AirPods 2 - for example, to $ 99. It will be cheaper for the company than developing and producing a completely new product.
