The final update of Telegram 2022 is out: hidden media files, memory saving mode and more

Telegram managed release another update in 2022. One of the most notable new features is the ability to close media files with a spoiler. To view a hidden image, you need to click on it. Previously, this could only be done with text.

The new version of the messenger adds finer memory management settings: you can configure automatic deletion from the cache files from different categories of chats (private messages, groups and channels), if necessary, adding exceptions for individual chats.

The visualization of the occupied space has also been redesigned: now everything is displayed on a pie chart. At the same time, we accelerated the calculation of occupied space on devices with iOS (on Android, according to the developers, everything worked quickly anyway).

Another new feature is adding profile pictures for a contact. You can choose how someone else's profile will look like, but other users will not see it. If you particularly like a photo, you can offer it to the profile owner.

Also in the list of innovations:

• New tools for editing images, drawing and adding text to photos and videos.
• New animations on Android when navigating to other pages and to messages that have gone way up in the chat.
• 10 new animated emoji sets for Premium members.
• The 🎅🏼🎄⛄💅🗿🆒🤪 emoji now has an interactive mode (you have to send the emoji to the dialog and tap it for this to work).
• Also, the above emoji can now be used as reactions to posts.
