New build of Windows 11 introduces energy-saving recommendations and a larger widget panel

Microsoft released A new preview build of Windows 11 (22623.885) that has a few notable features. The first of these are recommendations for energy saving, taking into account the power settings of your laptop.

Some of the system suggestions are quite obvious, for example: selecting an earlier shutdown time screen, using dark mode, or stopping USB devices when the computer goes to sleep mode. None of this is done by Windows by default.

Another noticeable change is the appearance of a wider widget panel that takes up almost the entire screen. The innovation will be useful for those who constantly follow a large amount of information: news, promotions, sports results, and so on.

And the third change is the addition of Windows Studio effects to quick settings. We are talking about a set of artificial intelligence tools that improve the quality of video and audio. For example, they can be used to blur the background during a call, suppress background noise, and even correct eye mapping to make it look like you're looking at a camera.

True, all the improvements in Windows Studio are available only for Surface Pro 9 and other devices with a compatible neural processing module. And among PCs with an Intel processor, there are none yet. Although many manufacturers have long implemented similar tools on their own, for example Huawei.

All beta channel users can get a fresh preview build of Windows 11. It is enough to check the availability of the update. In the stable version of the OS, these improvements may appear in the near future.
