Why You Should Live the Important Life, Not the Urgent Life

Start now if you want to fulfill your dreams and succeed.

What is the peculiarity of urgent life
Almost every day we have moments when we catch a glimpse of what we are capable of, a glimpse of who we are destined to be, or a hint of who we want to become.
It could be a sudden burst of inspiration for the book we've always dreamed of writing. Or trying to lose weight. Or a feeling of deep dissatisfaction from work and an impulse to create something of your own.
These are all important desires, and they are constantly knocking on our lives. But before we can open the door, daily urgency intervenes. The phone rings. The car is running out of gas. The boss comes with a new task and a tough deadline. And we postpone our dreams for one more day to put out another "fire".
How can we overcome this? How can we start living the life that matters to us instead of spending every minute responding to emergencies?
Think about this: for the next 10 years, you will be doing something. And in most cases, this "something" will be a solution to urgent problems, not work on important cases.
The urgent need to make money will outweigh the important desire to create a project that you will be proud of. An urgent urge to lose 5 kg in a month will defeat the important goal of becoming a person who does not skip workouts. The urgent need to be appreciated and noticed will be stronger than the important ability to find satisfaction in the moment.
Of course, we all need money. And yes, there are situations when it is necessary to postpone important matters in order to deal with an urgent one. chaos. Responsibilities are part of life. But how long do you plan to sacrifice your valuable dreams for the sake of new “fires”? How long will you put off what you are capable of in order to keep what you are currently doing? Year? Five years? For the rest of your life?
How to start living an important life
First of all, choose a clear direction. When you have the courage to say, “This is important to me, and I will pursue it,” you definitely won’t build your life depending on the expectations of others.
For example, I understand that my goal is to finish this article, and this gives me a certain direction for development. As soon as I have free time, I write another sentence. As soon as I have a new idea, I analyze how to implement it in this article. My life is organized around the achievement of one specific, important goal.
We all have pressing daily tasks: a phone call to be answered; the email to be sent; sick friend who needs help. However, having a clear, specific goal allows us to return to important things after we deal with emergencies. And it does not let us drown in the abyss of small tasks that eat up our time.
At the same time, you need to understand that the goal is different from the desire. Losing weight is a desire, doing 100 push-ups a day is a goal. Opening a business is a desire, finding three paying customers in a month is a goal. To write a book is a desire, to finish the first chapter before the end of the week is a goal.
Nothing worth working for ever seems urgent. Such is the nature of important goals. They don't need attention right now. They require clear direction, determination, and consistent effort over time.
I suggest you don't let your chances of success slip out of your hands any longer. Let's abandon the frenzied pursuit of mediocrity and start walking slowly towards greatness. Choose one important desire, set a specific goal for yourself and get started.
Never leave your dreams unfulfilled.
