Apple has released an updated column HomePod

new Macbook Pro And Mac mini The series of fresh releases from Apple is not limited: now the company has officially introduced the 2nd generation HomePod. Outwardly, it is no different from the original model, but it received new features and better hardware.

The new HomePod received an S7 processor - the same as in the Apple Watch Series 7. This should greatly improve performance over the original HomePod, which relied on the Apple A8 processor that powered the iPad mini 4 and iPhone 6.

The speaker supports Spatial Audio surround sound and is able to study the space around it in order to adjust the sound to the acoustics of the room. Two HomePods can be combined into a stereo pair.

An important innovation of the second generation was the ability to create smart home automation entirely through the speaker using voice control.

Intercom mode is also supported, as in HomePod mini. This feature allows you to talk to people on the other side of the house using the speakers as walkie-talkies.

The 2nd generation HomePod was priced at $299 (≈20,600 rubles). It will be released in white and dark blue (Midnight) colors already on February 3, pre-orders in the US and several other countries are already open.
