It seems ecosystem strategy at the moment is the most advantageous to the high-tech market. More and more companies, including Apple, Direct their efforts to involve users in their "archipelago" of devices, software and services - these efforts promise to pay off handsomely. Ecosystem competition promises to be hot, but the interim results have now.
Just recently, Forrester conducted an interesting study of consumers, the results of which have much to say about Apple's success in implementing its ecosystem strategy. Let's get acquainted with the results of this interesting study closer.
According to recent research the company to Forrester, released this week, the vast majority of computer users (85% worldwide) are not tied to a particular ecosystem. devices with each other communications, software, services - all this is not much keeps consumers from a specific manufacturer.
In order to fully appreciate the involvement of consumers in a particular ecosystem, Forrester analyst Charles Golvin divided customers into 3 categories:
- free radicals (Free radicals). It is consumers who do not have a clear attachment to any ecosystem. Free radicals are divided into two groups: those who use a single device, and those who use several devices of different ecosystems.
- loyal (Loyalists). A group of users who mainly use the device from one ecosystem, but is a staunch supporter of her.
- loyal users (Devotees). Customers use the device firmly between ecosystems.
As can be seen from the chart, Apple has the lead among loyal users, and among the faithful: 58 and 56%, respectively. Among US users, these figures are even higher: 58% and 71% of loyal loyal customers (!). These are great results.
In the main competitors Apple - Microsoft and Google are doing somewhat worse. In redmondovtsev good position in the dedicated users (in the world 44% and 27% in the US). This is largely due to the high market share of the Windows operating system - 85% of workers in the world of computers come with desktop OSes Microsoft.
Google's position looks the most modest. The company from Mountain View 25% of loyal customers around the world, and only 1% of loyal customers. It is obvious that Google has a lot of work on its ecosystem to oust Apple and Microsoft.
In general, the beginning of the war put an ecosystem. And Apple is quite a good position and a definite head start over its competitors. However, kupertinovtsy important not to relax and continue to implement its ecosystem strategy to develop the devices, services and software.
What do you think how much more progress has been made Apple's implementation of its "ecosystem" plans? Will other companies to make it compete with? When and who will be the winner of the war of ecosystems? Leave your opinion in the comments, participate in discussions and share this note with their friends on social networks.
