It can be used without a rope.
Xiaomi has introduced a new gadget in the Mijia series - the Smart Skipping Rope. It offers a simple design with a dot matrix digital display on one of the handles that shows the number of jumps and training time at a glance.
Mijia Smart Skipping Rope has 3 sets of Hall sensors, which can perform multi-point monitoring to capture jumping accurately. The data from the sensors is processed by an algorithm that is able to distinguish between correct jumps and unsuccessful ones. The application will allow you to view the training time, the total number of jumps, the pace and the longest chain of jumps.
The cable can be adjusted for height from 140 to 185 cm. Also included are balls for training in wireless mode: they imitate the weight of the rope, allowing you to predict the moment to jump. This option is safer and better suited for beginners: you won’t be able to stumble.
To connect to a smartphone, the gadget uses Bluetooth 5.0. The announcement says that the built-in battery will last for 20 days when used for 30 minutes daily. There is USB-C for recharging.
Xiaomi Mijia Smart Skipping Rope was priced at 129 yuan (≈1,400 rubles). Before the open release, the novelty will be available on Xiaomi Youpin crowdfunding: from March 22, it will be available at a reduced price of 95 yuan ≈1,100 rubles) - but, expectedly, only in China. Crowdfunding will end on April 5, at the same time the device should go on open sale - and appear on AliExpress.
