There are new details about the second season of "House of the Dragon"

The upcoming second season of HBO's House of the Dragon will run eight episodes, two fewer than first season prequel to Game of Thrones. About it informs deadline.

Production for the season is about to kick off in the UK. And the premiere is expected in the summer of 2024.

The source notes that the original plan for the second season was to do another 10-episode arc. Toward the start of production, the number of episodes was reduced to fit the story better.

Also, HBO is already considering a third season, which has not yet been officially confirmed. Part of the plot, originally intended for the second season, including a major battle, was moved to the third season.

It is likely that the series will run for four seasons, but this has yet to be determined as showrunner Ryan Condal and writer George R. R. Martin continues to discuss and rewrite the script. They try to find the optimal length of the show to tell the whole story, but not drag it out.
