Microsoft 365 Copilot AI Assistant Introduced - Co-Pilot for Work

Microsoft officially announced Microsoft 365 Copilot. It is an AI-powered tool that combines the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) and GPT-4 with Microsoft 365 Apps and data in Microsoft Graph - calendar, email, chats, documents, and so on.

In other words, this is an AI assistant that expands the capabilities of branded services and simplifies many routine tasks. Here are some examples.

• In Word Copilot, at your request, it can rewrite a certain paragraph, making it more concise, change the tone of the text, write a draft based on a plan or outline, as well as summarize documents or draw up a project proposal from existing ones data.

• In Excel, AI can understand natural language table queries without formulas, and can also detect correlations and trends, predict changes as new data is entered, and build charts to visibility.

• In PowerPoint, Copilot can help you turn your ideas into great presentations or turn your Word notes into handy presentation slides.

• In Outlook, the system will help you compose letters using prompts, summarize correspondence with various people, launch mailing lists, and even choose the right tone for a response.

• In Teams Copilot, it will transcribe the conversation in real time and give you a quick summary of what you may have missed in the meeting and what conclusions were drawn.

Also as part of this announcement, Microsoft introduced Business Chat, a brand new business interface that works with all your data and applications. It can aggregate information from chats, emails, and documents — for example, to work with a specific client or project.

So far, Microsoft 365 Copilot is being tested with two dozen of the company's customers, including 8 of the Fortune 500. In the near future, the corporation plans to expand the availability of AI and tell more about the prices and timing of a full release.
