Bank of Russia again extended the current restrictions on the issuance of foreign currency for 6 months, now until September 9, 2023. Also, banks have extended the ban on charging fees for issuing foreign currency from accounts and deposits for 6 months.
You can receive cash only in foreign currency from accounts or deposits opened before March 9, 2022 - and no more than 10 thousand dollars or their equivalent in euros. Regardless of the currency of the account, money is issued in dollars or in euros.
The rest of the money can only be received in rubles at an exchange rate not lower than the official one at the time of issue, if the money was deposited into the account before September 9, 2022. If the funds were deposited to the account later, the ruble equivalent will be calculated at the rate of the bank.
Banks will also be able to continue to sell dollars and euros received at the cash desk after April 9, 2022. There are no restrictions on the sale of other currencies.
