Google Drive, Docs and Sheets Get New Material You Interface
Miscellaneous / / April 02, 2023
The look and feel of services now blends better with Gmail and Android.
Google has launched an interface update for Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Presentations web services in the style of Material Design 3. It's the same design language as used in Gmail since last summer.
The updated Google Drive offers filters to sort by file type, last modified date, and who has access to it. The files themselves are now highlighted with a white area, while the main interface is gray-blue.
In Documents, Spreadsheets and Presentations, the shape of the toolbar has changed, thanks to the color accent, it differs from the top settings bar.
The update has already started and should be available to everyone by March 25th. It will be available to owners of personal accounts, Workspace subscriptions, and legacy G Suite Basic and Business plans.
